Batey 16: Caribbean heaven, saltwater pool, full staff, ocean view, 2 golf carts

It was great in its early days now appears rundown except the swimming pool and gazebo that are both excellent. The staff was very polite and helpful. Here is the problem, the day we arrived was raining and water went from the floor into 2 bedrooms, 1/2 inch in entire bedroom plus 2 inches in the "bedroom" that is next to the pool, it drained the next day. There was no hot water for 48 hours, finally after many tries they figured out that the heater was burnt, then they brought a new unit but it took exactly 4 minutes before hot water appeared in any of the bathrooms because there is no water recirculating pump, so taking a shower was a hassle during the entire stay. The batteries in both the golf carts were bad the next day new carts were rented but we had to wait until they arrived. The sheets and bed covers were at the end of life, very thin and obviously ancient. The covers in the pool chaise lounges were green many years ago, they are totally discolored and not appealing visually. The couple of days thar we ate breakfast was good but our only dinner there was Thanksgiving and it was a disaster, we requested Filet Mignon and the meat was so tough and tasteless that most of it went untouched. The only redeeming part was that we requested a refund and we received 2 days back. We think that the advertising was false : there was no river within a km from the house, There was a distant view of the ocean and by our standards does not measure up to what they charge.
